- Dates
- Every count is plain calendar arithmetic on dates you typed. Each computed date carries a reminder to check it against your own notice.
- Sources
- Statements about law or policy are quoted word for word with a link, the publisher, and the date a person last checked them. Statutes, regulations, the Federal Register and agency guidance come first; legal-aid analysis is labelled as such.
- When sources disagree
- Every position is shown with equal weight and its own source. The site does not choose between them.
- Highlights
- A top update may be highlighted for everyone, for a stated reason such as a new official notice or a conflict between sources. It is never based on anything in your record.
- Corrections
- Published statements are not edited silently. A correction is added with its date and links to what it replaces.
- Fixed order
- Lists of options and directories appear in the same order for every reader.
